SARA News - These Girls Are On Fire!

9/4/2013

Welcome to a fresh instalment of the SARA News.  Yes, it's that time again--Grab a delicacy to eat whilst perusing the SARA News, when the TIm Tams are kilojoule free and cream in your coffee isn't a no-no. *

Anne Oliver has sold book fifteen, which will be her first book with Harlequin KISS.  Titled Mistletoe Not Required, it's due for release in November.

Claire Baxter has signed a contract with Entangled Publishing for a book to be published under their Bliss imprint, which will tentatively be released in October this year.

Khloe Wren has signed a contract with Rogue Phoenix Press for Sapphire Angel, a vampire romance.

Lilliana Rose has sold a poem, titled 'Let Me Die a Young Women's Death' to Little Raven Publishing.

Picture

We're not only burning up on the contract front.  Check out some of our smoking hot blogs:

Dy Loveday

Bronwyn Stuart

Eleni Konstantine

Tamara Gill

Becca J Heath

Carla Caruso

Until next time, happy reading.

Emmeline

* Tim-tams are never kilojoule free, and neither is cream, sadly.  Sorry about that.  I would say, "Enjoy reading the SARA News while you eat your celery and cottage cheese on air", but it doesn't seem anywhere near as much fun.

SARA News - The joyful post

23/12/2012

There's a lot of happy getting around the SARA ranks at the moment - and it's not just the kind induced by eggnog and mistletoe.  Well, that's part of it and the stripper dressed as Rudolf, complete with harness, is certainly adding to the atmosphere, but...

The cause of this joyful shenanigans are impending NEW RELEASES!

Lillian Grant's HOT MALE, Reigning Men Volume Three, is coming out just in time for Christmas from LSB, so pop a santa hat on your ereader and get ready:

Picture
One man. One sensual dance. One night only to prove his love.

Michael wants Maggie. Maggie has Sam. Two’s company, three’s a crowd.

Years ago, Maggie tried to seduce Michael Monaghan, only to have her efforts rebuffed. Now she’s older, wiser, happily in love with Sam Stephens, and determined to keep her distance from Michael.

Michael Monaghan, hot male stripper, has all manner of women falling at his feet, except Maggie.  All he can do is watch from afar as Sam Stephens wins the heart of the one woman he really wants.

Sam Stephens is just tired of Michael watching Maggie’s every move.

Now there’s trouble with a capital T! Maggie’s Great-Aunt Maud has run off to Ireland with Michael’s Uncle Declan. Maggie needs to get to Aunt Maud and talk some sense into her before Declan’s gun-totting wife catches up with them. With Michael and Maggie off to Ireland together, Sam isn’t about to be left behind.

Tracking down the runaway lovers is complicated by the coldest winter in Dublin in years. With Michael, Maggie and Sam stuck in a house with only one bedroom, simmering sexual tension starts to boil over.

Michael wants Maggie. Maggie isn’t sure what she wants. Sam just wants to punch Michael in the nose.

Two’s company; three could be something else altogether.

Pheww-eeeeee!  Sign me up!  OUT December 24th.

Picture

Carla Caruso, author of Cityglitter, has another book coming out in February 2013 with Destiny Romance.

It’s called Second Chance and is a romantic comedy involving 90s time travel – a kind of “Hot Tub Time Machine for girls”.

Doesn't that just sound awesome!  Big congrats to Carla!  Stay tuned for cover love and blurb wonderful.

Picture

Big shiny congrats are also due Tamara Gill--her medieval time travel romance, DEFIANT SURRENDER, is out now from Crimson Romance!

Unlucky in love, Maddie St. Clair hides behind an antique store and her mudlarking hobby. That is until she finds a medieval ring that throws her back to 1102 Cumberland and into the life of Lady Madeline Vincent, heiress to Norman lands and about to be married to an autocratic Baron, William Dowell, nine hundred years her senior.

Lord William Dowell protects his own. Usually, from his closest neighbor and long standing foe the Baron of Aimecourt. Forced to marry his dead enemy’s daughter, Lady Madeline, by King’s decree, he hides his growing respect for his wife behind a wanton mistress. Yet when Madeline’s life is threatened, William’s loyalty to his kin is tested by the astonishing desire that flares between them. Not to mention the love that Madeline ignites that would last an eternity. If fate will allow . . .

Lilliana Rose's TAKING TIME at Alfiedog.com

4/12/2012

Head on over to Alfiedog.com to check out Lilliana's newest release:

Taking Time – Lilliana Rose – 1700 words (Romance)

Life is super busy for modern business woman Jenny. She doesn’t have time to stop and smell the roses, but when she does Jenny is rewarded with an unexpected gift.

Is it the silly season yet?

18/11/2012

Or have I gotten silly early?  Second thoughts, don't answer that.

As we stand at the precipice of Christmas 2012--and I'm finally over September's shock of seeing shiny decorations and red-and-green gift boxed chocolates in the stores--do you fancy taking a little time out and seeing what the SARAs have been up to over the last month or so?

Of course you do!  Take down time when you can, I say.

Picture
Carla Caruso has been a busy little fairy.

Not only is she fielding fabulously awesome reviews of her new releases, CITYGLITTER (Penguin Books) and MOMMY BLOGGER (Eternal Press), but she's been hanging out in Kingston SE's little corner of the web, talking about the book she's currently writing.

Carla also has a short story available at Alfiedog.com.  Check out The Grass Is Greener after November 18th.

If you just can't get enough of Carla (let's face it, I'm sure you're not alone), read her Blog Bite at the RWA Blog.

Picture

Lillian Grant has a new cover for HOT MALE, book three in her Reigning men series.

Ahem. Excuse me.  Need a drink of water.

Given the covers of MALE ORDER (book one) and MALE REVIEW (book two), book three has always had very big shoes to fill, and I'm sure you'll agree that HOT MALE does not disappoint.

And you know what they say about big shoes...

Picture
Dy Loveday is giving away three copies of ILLUSION to some lucky commenters over at her blog--head over and score yourself a book!

Anne Oliver has just had her latest book accepted, MARRIAGE IN NAME ONLY?, out in the UK as a Mills & Boon Modern in April next year.  Congrats, Anne.

Lilliana Rose has been hanging out where all good dark romancers do--at DarkSide DownUnder.  Get in quick to win an ecopy of CREATING WINGS.

Eleni Konstantine continues to set the world on fire down at the Taverna, and you can catch Tamara Gill and all things historical at her blog.

Congratulations to Suzie Hindmarsh-Knights, who is among Alfiedog.com's top five authors for two months running.  Head to her short stories here.

Finally, take a look at the Contest Divas blog, where they have compiled a list of 2011 romance writing contest winners.  See if you can spot the awesome SARA girls among the winners--Bronwyn Stuart, Rebecca Sampson and Virginia Taylor.

Nothing like a great book or four to get your mind off the silly season.

Until next time, happy reading,

Emmeline x

SARA News - The spring has sprung edition.

5/9/2012

It's wet and blustery today, so one could be forgiven for thinking it's still July.  But cold weather is ideal for consuming a cuppa and a biscuit, while you read the new SARA news.

I'll wait.  :)

We're warming up here at SARA.

Read on to find the good news that is springing up everywhere!

Picture
Huuuuge congrats to our very own Helen Katsinis (writing as Eleni Konstantine) who was awarded the Lynne Wilding Meritorious Service Award at the recent Romance Writers of Australia national conference.  We are all so pleased for you Helen, and no one knows more than a SARA how very well deserved that award is!

There is also a rumour kicking about regarding someone (ahem, pictured left) receiving a highly commended in RWNZ's Clendon Award recently.   Congrats, H!

Picture
The applause continues for Eleni Konstantine, whose Paranormal novella, Gateway to Hell, is scheduled for release on September 7th from Musa Publishing.

Zeta will protect the one she loves, even if it means living in Hell.

Mastering a unique power was much safer for Zeta Kosmos with a mentor to help her along. Now that he’s disappeared, Zeta must continue alone with her calling—closing Gateways to Hell.

Daniel Richards is in the family business—Warding supernatural evil from causing havoc on humans. As such, he’s only interested in the safety of one-night stands. Until Zeta. This bad boy now wants a long, lasting relationship.

But Zeta can’t let go of her past, nor can she ignore the secret demonic threats against Daniel’s life. She’d rather fight demonic spawn and be dragged into Hell than allow anything happen to him. Can Daniel convince her to stay? Will she have to pay the ultimate price?

There's an excerpt at the Musa site, link above.

Picture
Big congrats also to Tamara Gill, whose regency time travel romance, A Stolen Season, was released by Crimson Romance last week.  Here's the blurb lifted rather shamelessly from Tam's blog:

Archaeologist Sarah Baxter had a clear directive: travel back to nineteenth century London to retrieve the measuring device she left behind. But her bungled attempt at thievery left an English Earl dead and his brother bent on revenge. Sarah must once again go back in time to find the device and return to her own time before her tragic mistake puts a noose around her neck. Unfortunately, the only way to get close to the device is to befriend the very man who wants her dead.

Eric, the new Earl of Earnston, was determined to catch the woman who killed his brother, but she’d disappeared without a trace. Twelve months on and there are still no clues to her whereabouts. As luck would have it, he finds a distraction. A new family have arrived in town and Miss Sarah Baxter is a delightful diversion among the stale debutantes in the ton.

Sarah knows it is madness to seduce the man who would want her dead should he know who she was, but the Earl is an alarmingly persistent gentleman. Can Sarah procure the device without her secret being revealed? And what will the Earl do when he finds out the woman he’s in love with is not the woman he thought he knew?

“Sinfully seductive, with a to-die-for hero, A Stolen Season is a delightful Regency time travel with intrigue, scandal and breathtaking romance!” — Christina Phillips, author of Forbidden.

Also releasing this month is Trish Morey's The Sheik's Last Gamble from Harlequin Mills & Boon Sexy.

The winner takes all! When infamous billionaire gambler Bahir Al-Qadir is forced to protect his ex-lover, Marina Peshwah, it seems Lady Luck has finally deserted him...He's tried to forget the spoilt princess, but even the relentless heat of the desert has failed to burn the intoxicating image of her from his mind. Now he's about to discover that their passion left them with more than memories...Marina is once again at the mercy of the man she loves to hate. She may hold the winning card, but with such high stakes this proud sheikh will go all in to claim his heir!

SARA News - Sales: Keep 'em comin'!

12/7/2012

Congratulations to Bronwyn Stuart, who has just accepted a contract with Carina Press for her second regency novel, Behind the Courtesan,  due for publication early in 2013.  Scandal's Mistress is out next month, also from Carina!

Here's the blurb:

Behind the Courtesan

When Sophia Martin returns to the village she once fled, she knows it won't be all sunshine and happy reunions but she also didn't expect the name calling and insults to come from her childhood friend. Blake Vale just can't accept the decisions she made, the courtesan's life she leads, or the fact he once loved a girl who no longer recognizes her true self. Plain old Sophie Martin has to be inside this hardened woman somewhere and he's determined to bring her out and make her see she doesn't need rich dukes to be happy and that the future has nothing to do with her past.

Picture
Eleni Konstantine has been a busy lady!  Not only is she featured in the RWA Blog's Conference Spotlight recently, but she's also been nominated for the Lynne Wilding Award.

Don't know the award?  This, from the RWA blog:
Established in 1996, this award’s intention is to recognise and honour an individual’s outstanding contribution to RWA. Named in honour of our first President, Lynne was the driving force behind this award. She understood the importance committed individuals can make to the lifeblood of an organisation.

Big congrats, Eleni, and best of luck!  Very much deserved.

Amy T Matthews and her Dobbie Award shortlist nomination for End of the Night Girl have been featured on the Curtis Brown webpage.
